The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE), a Division of the Office of the Provost, is responsible for providing leadership necessary for maintaining Mississippi State University's accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Additionally, OIE facilitates the development and implementation of assessment programs emphasizing continuous improvement in fulfilling MSU's overall teaching, research, and service mission. The staff consults with each academic program, support unit, and administrative unit to ensure all appropriate data are integrated for submission to SACS for the reaffirmation of accreditation. The Office uses organizational assessment tools to help departments and units improve key processes, assess institutional needs, and develop institutional effectiveness plans that achieve the goals outlined in Mississippi State's strategic plan.
